Not sure if this has been covered, but I was wondering how many copies they sold for each album to this date. I am particularly interested in how many copies Core sold.

I heard Core was certified 8x platinum in 2001. I was wondering if it has sold a good amount since then. How many sales equal a platinum certification exactly? Is there an exact number?

1 million shipments certifies platinum, but it is based on how many copies have been shipped to stores less how many have been returned, not how many have actually been sold. RIAA doesn't use Nielson Soundscan because not all shops register the sale with Nielson, so they track shipments instead.

That's why SLDD is certified Gold even though it only sold 350,000.
