BelowEmpty's Spotlight #1: Sin (Unplugged) Is A Myth

                                                                                      ~BelowEmpty's Spotlight #1: Sin (Unplugged) Is A Myth~

During the band's long history there was a lot of rumors, myths and legends floating around and driving us nearly crazy, but the Unplugged version of "No Memory/Sin" that somehow slipped out of our hands was one of the absolutely most intriguing things among  fans. We were searching for the file for many many years, but now it seems to be the time to stop having any hopes. We were told that the recording was damaged, but it was never there in the first place, because according to the two highly reliable sources closely connected to the performance....

Neither "No Memory" nor "Sin" was performed during that night.
It's official.

Then, what's up with the "Sin was damaged" talk? Not sure, but as I was told by one of the sources "I never heard of any tape errors occurring the night of the recording or finding them after the recording.  I think this is all rumor"

In case you are not familiar with the whole history of the "Sin" Unplugged rumors visit Rik's FAQ section.

Yeah I was wondering this myself I've been looking for a Leaked version of Sin Unplugged somewhere but I could not find it

I am hoping that they release a DVD/CD of their Unplugged Performence with The 20th Edition of Core coming out this year with Sin Unplugged

you never know STP could have it and are fixing the Quality up for it or whatever to make it look good for the release of the 20th edition of Core

Idk Just my theory about it

Tyrant I love you but I disagree.
The guys response isn't a solid confirmation.
"I think it's just a rumor." "I never heard of lost tapes."
Either way it doesn't matter though I guess.
Bottom line it will NEVER be heard.

Why don't we all just record our own versions and post them on BE?
You'll never lose it cuz you never had it

Didn't they comment on it once? I could be mistaken...

The quote I posted was a response directly to the damaged tapes rumors, not about Sin being or not being played.
This quote is not the entire conversation. Both of the sources are 100% sure that the song wasn't played, because....almost no one know better than them.

How have the members of the band themselves not just been asked about it?  Seems like it would have come up years and years ago
May 17th 2008
July 8th 2009
August 25th 2010
July 19th 2011

I'm still curious if there are alternate takes of STP's Unplugged somewhere, as it was extremely common for bands to do a song multiple times and use the best takes.
If STP did indeed do multiple takes then that is where a version of Sin could be...that is if it was ever performed.

Nirvana was one of the rare exceptions where they did the entire show in one take.

How did we never see it coming? It does not exist, like the so wanted version of Only Dying, probably.

Well, then they could do it for the first time for Core Anniversary tour ;D
