"Deluxe Edition" live tracks
« on: May 19, 2010, 02:40:19 AM »
Neither they are not from the Chicago show or they were edited to death.

EDIT: I'm pretty sure some lines were copy/pasted from some other show(s)
And to be honest, I'm completely ok with it.
Can we really find
A lovely magic place we dream of?

Definitely.

I was there and as i remember he made a mistake on BTL where he missed his Entrance after the solo...It wasn't there.

Seems like they do a lot of 'copying and pasting' for live recordings...I remember reading about the live version of U2's 'Bad' on the 'Wide Awake In America' E.P. - parts of vocals from other shows, bass from another, etc..etc..

Plus, comparing it to the audience recording, there are noticeable differences.
6/4/08 - Detroit, MI - The Fillmore (Red Wings win the Cup); 7/7/09 - Lansing, MI - Common Ground Festival; 8/19/10 - Grand Rapids, MI - Deltaplex; 8/26/10 - Detroit, MI - Fox Theatre; 4/20/11 - Detroit, MI - The Fillmore; 8/18/12 - Pontiac, MI - Silverdome

the guitar solo from between the lines is from chicago, i didn't hear him hit a harmonic like that in the solo at the other shows

I can not remember who it was in the interview, but about 10 years back I was reading an artical with a band and they were asked what has surprised them the most about the business and they said that "live" albums are not "live".

Still wish we could get a cleaned up version of the new Sour Girl live.

oh yeah! Take a look at this:

Led Zeppelin's "Song Remains The Same" live LP is actually edited from bits and pieces. Interesting really!
Soundgarden - 1996-10-15
Pearl Jam - 2000-06-30
Fugazi - 2000-10-10
Stone Temple Pilots - 2001-08-21
The Mars Volta - 2003-03-24

Even Pink Floyd's Pulse, which I think is the greatest live album there is, isn't taken from a single show.
STP Shows:
10/24/02 - New Orleans Arena/New Orleans, LA * 06/28/08 - Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion/The Woodlands, TX * 10/24/08 - Voodoo Festival/New Orleans, LA * 03/19/10 - Horseshoe Casino/Bossier City, LA * 10/25/10 - River Center/Baton Rouge, LA
