Heartbreaking. Had Bowie connected with Scott, perhaps he'd still be here?

That's a lovely thought. I had wondered what relationship the two had, if any, for many years. It's nice to think that Bowie was at the very least aware of Scott. At least before he went, he knew Bowie was reaching out. I'm sure that meant something to him. It's sad that they died in such close proximity of time to each other.

I know Trent credits Bowie with helping him get clean and I always felt like "what if" for Scott. What if Scott's musical hero reached out to him, would that have made a difference?

Something about this though, I just don't know. I don't think there was a lot to it. "Hey you're friends with this guy. If he needs help, have him call me."

I think the headline implies more than the actual story.

Bowie was helpful to Slash getting clean too. Not sure Scott was listening to anyone at that stage though, even his hero Bowie.
