I know Phil Anselmo very well. He is from Metairie, Louisiana. We grew up and played in the same scene and hung out quite a bit. I was pretty good friends with Darrell ( Dimebag) Abbott also. Phil was in a cover band called Razor White that used to play the scene here in the mid 80's, i was in a band with Craig Nunemcher from Black Label Society called Calamity Jane. I also played with Tommy Buckley from Crowbar. The people who do play music in New Orleans are pretty tight with each other.
