Wicked Garden Demo Version (MJY)
« on: August 19, 2014, 07:15:29 PM »
I really like this demo. The exaggerated echo on it and the grittier vocal tonality really make the song more visceral than on the finished Core album.  Also, if you listen closely there seems to be more going on with the drums - more cymbals or something.

Also, and I know I've pimped the Core DVD audio here for years, but it makes for a really unique back-to-back listening experience to go from the demo to the Wicked Garden track on the DVD.

It's a great demo, and it makes for a great go-to track when you've listened the hell out of Core for twenty years.

Forgive me for responding to a near-two year old topic, but I agree. The funny thing is how people always compared them to Pearl Jam and shit when Core came out...but several songs on Core pre-dated Ten....

The comparison is hollow. Always was. Always will be.
And I'm convinced that it all really stemmed from facial mannerisms by Scott in the "Plush" video, because as far as the music goes, you'd never mistake STP for PJ or vice versa.
