What is Scott was Paul McCartney?
« on: August 19, 2010, 04:35:27 PM »
Alright guys, so give this some thought.... I saw Paul McCartney this past Sunday in Philadelphia and was absolutely blown away- but that goes with out saying. The legend played 36 songs and rocked out for almost 3 hours. He played 22 Beatles songs, 9 Wings and 5 Solo songs.

Hopefully 25 years from now, we will still be able to see STP (I know it's a totally ridiculous stretch, but these past few days have made me more optimistic) and maybe even a Scott Weiland Tour. 36 songs is deceiving because the Beatles have so many short songs, but we could use the same formula and proportion to make is apropos for Scott. Let's give this performance 30 songs (yes it's a push, but who gives a shit I'm bored at work): 18 STP, 7 Velvet Revolver and 5 solo songs.

An Evening with Scott Weland: August 19th, 2035,:

1 Big Empty
2 Wicked Garden
3 Do it For the Kids
4 Just Sixteen
5 Crackerman
6 Tangle with Your Mind
7 Blind Confusion
8 Take a Load Off
9 Vasoline
10 Headspace
11 Opposite Octave Reaction
12 Cool Kiss
13 Dumb Love
14 Tumble in the Rough
15 Plush
16 Interstate Love Song
17 Still Remains
18 Cinnamon
19 Mockingbird Girl
  20 The Last Fight
  21 Too Cool Queenie
  22 Maver
  23 Unglued
  24 Fall to Pieces
  25 Down

  Encore 1
  26 Let it Roll
  27 Slither
  28 Trippin'

  Encore 2
  29 And So I Know
  30 Piece of Pie

Wow.. that took way longer than I expected

Not to dishearten your thread or anything, but in almost 30 years, will Scott be able to sing the Core songs? That would be trully amazing if he could, but doubtful.  I would believe he would sing a lot of SLDD and Tiny Music from STP.

Hahaha i love this idea, here's a realistic one:

I think he'll start off safe with a couple songs he knows he can hit early...

1. Big Empty (older, returning back to starting off his concerts a bit on the slower side)
2. Interstate Love Song
3. Crackerman
4. Wicked Garden
5. Huckleberry Crumble
6. Lady Picture Show
7. Adhesive
8. Revolution
9. Reel Around The Fountain
10. Tumble In The Rough
11. Army Ants
12. Still Remains
13. Mockingbird Girl
14. Paralysis
15. Hello, It's Late
16. Bi-Polar Bear
17. Creep
18. Suffragette City

Encore
19. Plush
20. Barbarella

Sorry guys...i only see him banging out 20

When STP had a cookout after filming the video for the Core single "Plush," Weiland made jerk chicken that was "spectacular," Dean raves.

it will start anything with his solo works, then followed in between stp and velevet and close it with his solo back ;)
Songs are emotions in sonic form and I had a lot of emotions at the time. And each of those emotions inspires its own sound."- Scott Weiland on recording "12 Bar Blues" album

Oh c'mon we don't need rationality here.. You're both right, but when I composed that set I wasn't be totally realistic. Just entertaining myself

Scott will DEFINITELY mellow with age, as he himself predicted in a 2007 interview in Blender Magazine:

"What are you gonna be doing when you’re 65?

Scott Weiland: Hopefully, breathing. You know, riding horses, fishing, [takes a drag from a cigarette] not smoking, having a great relationship with my wife and kids. I’d still like to be writing songs, but I don’t wanna be shaking my ass onstage anymore. Doing music in a dignified manner — not in size-27 skinny jeans"

In 2008 interview in USA Today, Scott added:

"I don't want to get battered from throwing myself around on stage. I want a performance style that's more cerebral and emotional than physical. I want to be a creative artist, not a whirling dervish."

If still touring, Scott would cut all of the harder stuff from his setlist and focus on his melodic songs. Maybe even full accoustic shows on a candle lit stage with Scott dressed in a very nice suit.

With all of that taken into consideration, here's my prediction of a setlist for the show:

Interstate Love Song
Creep
Big Empty
And So I Know
Adhesive
Sour Girl
I Got You
Atlanta
Hello its late
Loving the Alien
Gravedancer
Killing Me Sweetly
"What is the truth? What is reality? Your truth, your knowledge, that becomes your truth, becomes the reality...figure it out for yourself..." Scott Weiland
