he's said for sure about a lot of things... I'm just hoping the record is well made and all know is that its very frustrating to record an album for a label you're not getting along with it happens very often but not often to lawsuits, his best choice is to maintain calm about the whole situation with the label and not bash em at all, or even talk about their current head like he did on Classic Rock not a good thing to have those types of snakes crawling up on you.

And it's not retarded, it's really complicated to explain see lets say STP decides to go under a new name and play all these songs live...that's a lawsuit  most of the times bands that are in the situation STP is in can't even play live together and sadly they can't tell you this either why.....another lawsuit! if they don't make these records they just can't do anything at all period which is why they're stuck. its a very serious situation and there is so much more to it that the band can't talk about cuz they could be easily sued for it, let's just hope it all works out. this is why they allll say that the music business IS a nasty thing.

Bump this 'cause I've recently bought a Kerrang mag (from Spain) from April 2010. There's an interview with Scott.
Not sure if we already know about this, won't read the 10 pages :P

So according to Scott the issue is solved. The old contract was renegotiated, they owe Atlantic a "greatest hits" record (by the way it is written, seems it was already released, Buy This?) and a future release of a live album. And they signed a new contract with Atlantic just for "Stone Temple Pilots", of course there's the option, if both parts want, of more records. Scott says "in a year from now we'll seat and see what we're going to do" (about new releases with Atlantic).
So apparently they're out of Atlantic now (if it comes to new music)
