Where this was a rehearsal, he probably wasn't pushing himself too hard.  When I saw them earlier this month, I thought he sounded excellent.

yo guys - i regularly try to hook up fellow stp fans with shit (but yet i have a bad rep), here are a few vids that i've never seen before - it's weiland solo playing a few tunes (notably big black monster) live, but very good quality.

i dunno if people have seen these before or what, but i certainly never did.

scroll to the bottom of the page and look on the lower right part of the screen for "videos"
