The Booklet
« Reply #135 on: May 25, 2010, 11:21:12 PM »
Anyone get a chance to flip through it? Felt good to go through a booklet while listening to the cd, havent done that in a while.

Anywas the Thank You's.  Scott didnt thank anyone in particular, his was only 3 lines.  While the other boys seemingly thanked everyone they know. I notice that Dean thanked Jimmy Page, is this the JP from Zepp?

And Scotts not smiling once in any of the pictures, what a killjoy 8) . Love the pic where theyre all in mid air.  Its a so nice(italian accent).

The font seems a tad small in the booklet. All in all a very nice lay out

I reckon so - nice to see Dean thanking both Joe Walsh & Jeff Beck again (as he did on AoA).

On that point, I noticed that Richard Patrick gets no mention from either DD or RD - I guess that clears up the "who bailed on AoA?" question then.   :D

Richard bounced AOA so he could release his Anthems for the Dumb record.

Which was about as successful as AOA. Ah well.

- Fast As I Can
- Bagman
- Between The Lines
- Dare If you Dare
- First Kiss On Mars or Dare If You Dare

- Hickory Dichotomy

Whats with the rest?

Looks real good.  I take it this is the standard release?  Wonder if the deluxe will be any different or just an extra disc added inside.

the deluxe edition is supposed to include:

A 12 page booklet and an 18 panel poster plus gold foil added to the cover art.
Really??! I got the deluxe version from Target and there was no 18 panel poster! Also, my booklet looks exactly the same as the scans but on the page with the picture of the band jumping, it's blank. Just the red background. Did I get a fucked up copy or something??

Little sidenote, I noticed those illustrations of the cat, rat trap, etc and caught on to their song references too. Pretty cool stuff the page with the collage of pictures is great

yeah, the target deluxe edition with the DVD didn't come with the poster or band picture.  You need to purchase the 'regular' deluxe edition (digipak) for those items.

The Point Pleasant Beach, NJ postcard and the New Jersey map that are in the middle pages have nothing to do with song references. That is where the Deleo brothers are originally from. OH YEA JERSEYYY!!! my homestate

I'm surprised there wasn't a mention of Brendan as a producer on Samba Nova....it seems like the band remixed the track, but Brendan still recorded it.

Shangri-la outtakes were recorded by Doug. Brandon didn't want to work on these tracks.

Thanks, I didn't know that.  I've read that Brendan is so busy nowadays that you are on a strict time limit with working with him.  I guess he just worked on the 13 album tracks he liked and was out the door.
