Backdrop on European Tour
« on: June 20, 2010, 07:14:23 PM »
Hey, I was just wondering if STP is just using the new album backdrop for the European shows because of an inability to hang the giant video wall because of the smaller venue sizes and quick-set up festivals, or if they are just planning on dropping it altogether in favor of a more conventional backdrop? Here's hoping they bring it back for the North American tour!

EDIT - Sorry, I misread your post. I thought you was asking to see the new backdrop lol.

I never saw the US backdrop, but yeah I would guess the euro one was just used for light travelling.

I love the backdrop, never really liked the screen/s when we came out to see them in the States last year,
every band seems to have these things nowadays and i thought a lot of the images were quite cheap looking, The backdrop used at Download stood out from all the other bands ones on the day who had black ones, they used it again at Brixton.

I figured they didn't take the video screens to save money

I JUST watched the "Live in Chicago" show on VH1 and JUST had a conversation with my hubby about the video screens.

A band that knows how to rock as hard as STP doesn't need the fancy screens behind them during the show.  Bring back the old prom-looking backdrop - I loved it - and it didn't distract from the band's live show.
How could they not notice it?! Because it's a little mint.  It's a Junior Mint!

If I have to be honest, I don't remember how the screens looked like when they played here. I barely watched them. OK, I didn't watch them at all. So whether they were cool or not, I can't tell.
