I think that this is an amazing song by Scott. It's timeless in my opinion. How could this song not be great?? It has a great vibe to it and I think it's one of his best on the album by far right next to Killing Me Sweetly!

How do you know it was written in 2002?
"Crashing" seems to be a theme throughout Happy, as he sings about it in 3 or 4 songs. Just an FYI.

One of my favorites from both albums. Absolute gem.
I too like the high notes that he hits on the song.

Dedicated. Disgusting. Disturbing.
I'm just sittin' on this merry-go-round, and the music is too loud..

It could have been written earlier than 2002, but Scott only recorded with Matt O'Connor (Eric Kretz' former drum tech) in late 2002 as far as I know.

Damn, he must have other songs sitting around for a while. I know the few tracks his brother drums on must have been written, at the latest, a few years ago. Any other tracks written back in the day?

One of my favorite songs on the record, one of Scott's best vocal performances imo.

Your car passed my street today
But no one was driving
It must be a metaphor for losing my mind
Ah.. one of the best lyrics I've heard in awhile. Along with certain lines from "Cologne" by Ben Folds, that's my vote for lyric of the year.

I really wished the one-disc release of Happy had this as its opening track. I really love this song.

I loved when we had this kind of stuff. And, yes, Crash is an amazing song. After Hello, it's late, it has my second favorite Scott's line "We grew with the speed of light but crashed in the night"
