Re: just stop playing Big Bang Baby live

I have a theory....I think this song just might be very hard for him on a good day, and his voice right now is shot.  He toured with Velvet Revolver for how long, including a stint in rehab, and then went straight into this 5+ month STP tour.  To me it sounds like he's just singing it all an octave lower and it might be so he can keep going night after night.  Because I've heard on a few bootlegs where he will sing a verse properly and then go back to the way he's been doing it for the most part.

Just a thought.....

I think I already said this, but the song sounds better sung in the lower octave. Just my humble opinion.

Gotta respect your opinion 100%, but I like it so much better in the proper octave.....the Letterman version is the best I've ever heard :D

Getting to finally hear it live, I honestly didn't think it was bad at all. I was bracing myself, because it didn't sound so hot in the videos on YouTube... but I was pleasantly surprised. I don't like it better than the album version, but I do like it.

I know, I'm in the strict minority on that. In fact, I may be the entire minority.

uh, guys.. he's not singing it in a different octave (the verses anyway). he's just singing it very nasally/harshly, unlike he used to. the tone quality may make it sound lower or higher than before, but it's not.

if you're talking about the chorus, he is switching up the melody, sometimes singing parts a 4th or 5th lower than he does in the recording. not an octave.

Re: Coma on this tour

Since the Charlotte show was cut short, I didn't hear Coma. But if its what it sounds like back in 2002 or whenever, its just alright. I like the studio version better. And as for Big Bang Baby, I don't have a problem with it. Although at the Charlotte show, it sounded like he was singing opera during "Nothing's for free" hahaha.
