That's fucking awesome. Been dealing with some drug issues myself but I have Scott as an inspiration (not only musically) but also to stay clean and keep focused on my own music. Love GNR too so it's nice to have a potential VR cover being prepared and a tribute to someone who I'm sure we all miss everyday through his music

I'm not sure Scott would be the inspiration I would look to if I were trying to stay clean, but good luck.

I am feeling AXL will, too bad Izzy isn't on board because he would actually do a great job. AXL will do it justice, i think he finally grew up enough to honor someone properly

it would be cool to hear a lot of the VR stuff with axl on vocals, or even better, give axl the instrumentals and see what he comes up with.

I'll believe it when I hear it.  This is one of those things things that sounds great on paper but we'll have to see if GnR actually goes thru with playing the song live.  I'm not so sure.

Agreed. As cool as it sounds, it's one of those things that you can't get your hopes up for.

I think there's a very small chance they could play it, since they've played stuff from Axl's Chinese Democracy album, but can't really see Axl singing Scott's words after that whole botox face wig wearing fuck comment from back in the day....

I'm seeing GnR in Nashville in a few weeks, I'll certainly report back if they play it, but I really doubt it.  That would be awesome though.

When I've gone to see GNR in the past, they'll put on like a 3 hour show. Extended jams and solos are thrown in between songs during the set. And they'll even have someone else in the band take a song or two on vocals, typically a cover tune or something. That's where I'd imagine this would get played, if it happens at all. And if that happens, does it lessen the meaning, because Axl wasn't there to"pay tribute"?

Who knows what happens? I just have a hard time believing that Axl would be the one to be out there singing it. Then again, this whole "reunion" and AC/DC thing has yielded plenty of surprising Axl moments.

They haven't done it live yet. Could just be something they're only doing in rehearsals.

Considering the OP is from June 2016, I'm guessing it's something they rehearsed and then decided not to play.
