Not his "fault" per say, that's probably not the best way to phrase that. He's the cause though, yes. He actively fought streaming of all kinds on a regular basis. The thought for a long time was that he had a team of people who constantly removed his shit from the web, it was probably true.

he was actively taking on the internet. he didn't even have a website. he had instagram near the end. Up until a few days ago when everyone started uploading stuff to the internet, he probably had the highest ratio of "fame vs content online". anything getting uploaded anywhere would be down by the next day.

Point being that blaming YouTube itself wasn't really the best way to direct one's ire over the situation.

He tried to take on fansites as well, not a smart move really. He didn't seem to understand what they were all about, and that they were trying to promote him, not rip him off.
