Yay, I sure hope the update is that they have decided to let the band and its name die with what little dignity they had left before they let nümetal kween Chezter be their lead singer before he realized it was a sinking ship.

More likely though is that they found some other craptastic singer to try and fill shoes that will never be able to be filled and they will continue floundering in obscurity for the next few years before this singer realizes he had a better chance getting famous with whatever up-and-coming band he was a part of before he wasted his life trying to fill Scott Weiland's shoes.

If we were lucky it would be some sort of archival thing with the few unreleased studio songs we haven't heard and a plethora of live music we haven't got a chance to hear soundboard recordings of. But the reality is, we know how much the DeLeo brothers like money and living in the past, so yeah.

Any bets on who STP's new singer is?

It's got to be one of three things.

1. New singer

2. They worked out a deal with Mary to use Scott's likeness in merch/STP archival projects and reintegrate him into the legacy/brand.

Jesus, this place really is just a miserable negative place. This band can't do anything without people attacking them, they haven't even DONE it yet and people are all over them talking shit.

I don't have a huge problem with them finding a new singer. However, I hope it has more to do with Scott and some fan stuff than bringing a new singer in. I mean, I get eventually wanting to move on. But two months later, with stories still trickling out? That is bad form.

If these guys are as devastated as we hear, I think any announcement is down the road. Of course, that is just my opinion, and I could be wrong.

But I imagine the band have had other things to do with their time than find a new singer for STP these last few months.
