Nevermind, and Nirvana in general, was the first good music I started listening to when I was a kid.

Well... since Im only 21... not a whole lot of albums i can rattle off.  But I remember I got the Now thats what I call music 3 cassette back in 1999 because it had All Star by Smash Mouth on it.  Then a few months later I got Astro Lounge.  To this day I been meaning to get another copy of "Astro Lounge."  Other than that I still stand by my trusty Sublime's S/T album!

While I wasn't around when it was released, Crime of the Century by Supertramp. Back in highschool when my buddy got his licence we would borrow his dads truck which had a broken radio and a cassette deck that wouldn't eject the tape. Probably heard side 1 of that album 100's of times.

Headtrip in every key by SUPERDRAG is one of the greatest albums of all time, not sure how they didn't blow up, oh yeah their label screwed them. I always thought their song writing was up there with the beatles. Anyways The two main song writers in Superdrag are now in a band called "The Lees Of Memory" and it is fucking AWESOME!!! They just released their first album about a month ago and it is back to bad ass tunes! Check it out! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yp_l8204MGI

Also for those lurking listen to the Superdrag album for free here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X2Fncb6umq8 Holy shit do I love that album. Nice pick.

@Deleo. Thanks for the info!  I just checked out some Lees Of Memory. Some songs you can tell have John Davis' sense of pop craftsmanship written all over.  Others have a bit of a different feel with a hint of something familiar.  That "We Are Siamese" is a perfect example of this.  Definitely can hear a little bit of that droning in the guitars as being familiar in some Superdrag tunes, but the way it's done here is more like a shoegaze style. That song specifically reminds me of My Bloody Valentine.

I think John Davis' work with Superdrag is some of the best power pop since the Beatles. I was fortunate enough to to see the original lineup reunion when they came to Chicago on the Industry Giants tour.

Rusty Willoughby is another guy who did pretty killer power pop tunes when he was in Flop.  "Fall Of a The Mopsqueezer" is a record I might recommend to you.

Albums that I never tire of and have listened to over and over again for years are -

The first 5 STP records (obviously! Especially 'Purple' and 'SLDD')

Guns N' Roses - Appetite for Destruction (first had it on cassette around 1989 and still listen to it now)

Red Hot Chili Peppers - 'Blood Sugar Sex Magik' & 'One Hot Minute' (Bought both the year they were released and still play them a lot, OHM in particular takes me back to 1995)

Filter - 'Title of Record' (love it, not a bad track on there)

Smashing Pumpkins - 'Siamese Dream' and 'Mellon Collie' (another 2 that I've owned since the 90's that are still in heavy rotation)

Pearl Jam - 'Ten'

Jane's Addiction - 'Ritual De Lo Habitual'

Alice in Chains - 'Dirt' & 'Jar of Flies'
Nothing matters again, I didn\'t think we\'d last that long
