Black Sabbath's "Dehumanizer" album.
And just so you know, that's NOT with lame-ass Ozzy, but instead the great Ronnie James Dio (RIP) on vocals.

One of the best (underrated and almost unknown) hard rock/metal albums ever!

I think "Huckleberry Crumble" would be a good single.
Then it would be cool to hear it on the radio right after the DJ played Aerosmith's "Uncle Salty".

Dean DeLeo / Re: Ultimate Guitar interviews Dean DeLeo
« on: October 01, 2010, 09:20:10 PM »
Thanks for the link - for me personally, it's so cool that Dean talks about Mick Taylor who I think is the most underappreciated musician in the history of the Stones.

I grew up listening to my mom's copy of Goats Head Soup - that album is seriously underrated imo.

I think Dean is underappreciated too, everybody talks about Slash or Jimi Page, and, yes they are very good guitar players but Dean is one of best guitar player, his style is unique!!!

I fully agree. I think when "critics" overlook his talent, it is usually because Dean's "versatility" gets confused with "derivative". That's a mistake. Every legend was a disciple of a legend before him.  The same could be said of Rich Robinson (Black Crowes).

Scott Weiland / Re: Favorite singing voice
« on: October 01, 2010, 09:07:04 PM »
Hi all!  This is my first post on "BelowEmpty".

One of the things I love about Scott is his versatility.
David Bowie was once called "The Chameleon" because of his ever-changing stage persona.
But I think Scott Weiland is a VOCAL chameleon. Over the course of his career, and in many cases per album,  he has sounded like John Lennon, David Bowie (especially on STP's latest), Jim Morrison, Pat DiNizio (Smithereens),  Richard Butler (Psychedelic Furs),  Brian Wilson,  David Gates,  and of course his own unique voice.
