Nice review Juge. I give the overall show an A, the band sounded great and the visuals on the screen were amazing. The performance of Down was one for the ages.. whereas Sour Girl was missing something. I was in the back of the pit so I wasnt able to see exactly what was going on at all times but the band was excellent last night. They played extended versions of songs, Robert was full of energy, and Deans absolutely shredded his guitar. Scotts voice was in top form and even though he was dressed nice, he looks very worn through the eyes. It was really cool to watch him dance when Robert and Dean were playing for a minute. Awesome time!

Got my tickets too! Will be with my wife and 2 of our friends in the pit. I've been a long time STP fan but have never seen them live. I have seen Radiohead at Merriweather and remember the pit being pretty small which is a good thing. Do you peeps think the crowd in the pit will be like? Passive ? Aggressive? I dont mind a little pushing or moshing,  but my wife just had surgery and will is pretty fragile at the moment and dont want to get her bumped or pushed... if aggressive maybe we will just move to the back of the pit. Does anyone know about the opening band? Who they are and what type of music they play? Anyway looking forward to it!

Played Shows / Re: New Interview

I cant believe anyone hasnt mentioned that he seemed totally out of it and couldnt even string a single sentence or thought together.  What the f happened to this guy? I would like to think he is drunk but if that was the case he would be talking his head off.  Sad to say but he seems really burnt.  How is this the same guy that just released an excellent solo album.

Scott Weiland / Re: The early change in Scott Weiland (Core - Purple)

Thanks for the reply's.  I have been reading alot of the articles and interviews from this site and I came across one from esquire magazine from 05 where scott really opened up and gives the dirt on his life and how he got involved in drugs.  Purple has always been one of my favorite albums and came out when I was about 15 and I vividly remember enjoying the album from the start.  I'm glad stp branched out and made different types of music. Scott sure does change his appearance alot but also has the talent to change his voice just as much. He certainly has had an interesting life

Scott Weiland / The early change in Scott Weiland (Core - Purple)
« on: December 08, 2008, 02:19:59 PM »
Hello everyone . Just joined but have been lurking for a few months  Just wondering about the overall change in appearance and song writing from Core to Purple.  Core era Scott seemed very macho with the beard , hairy chest and aggressive lyrics and barely 2 years later he is skinny as a rail in full blown makeup (purple liner pics) and writing some very nice lyrics. Is this all due to the dope or something else.  I know Scott is a chameleon but looking at him core era i would be hard pressed to believe that Frank Sinatra is hi idol(something I recently read) . Now you rarely see Scott without a 3 piece suit on. I really love Scotts new album and plan on seeing him in philly in january.  I'm very interested to know about the early forming of stp and mighty joe young and what inspired  Scott  to write core and join/start a band in general.  If anyone has any info or link I would appreciate it.
