The Wicked Garden / Someone Messing With STP Chart Rankings Again?
« on: October 26, 2010, 05:13:17 AM »
Someone is messing with Wikepedia chart rankings for STP again. I know for sure Take a Load off never made the Hot 100. Between the lines never made the hot 100 either. I think it was close though. I'm seeing this under stone temple pilots discography section of wikipedia.

The Wicked Garden / Request Cinnamon!
« on: October 26, 2010, 04:37:03 AM »
Cinnamon is in regular rotation now on 92.3 The Alternative in San Jose but I think we all need to vote and request it at our local stations. 92.3 is also giving away the chance to sing the intro to Dead and Bloated at the Warfield! I hope I win. Wish me luck!

The Wicked Garden / Cinnamon Chart Ranking - Too Good to Be True?
« on: October 01, 2010, 06:55:32 AM »
I was looking on Wikepedia at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stone_Temple_Pilots_discography and noticed amazing chart rankings for Cinnamon. It was released to radio a little over a week ago so I find it hard to be true. I looked on billboard and didn't see Cinnamon anywhere. Is there any truth to this?

The Wicked Garden / Top 10 STP Songs That Weren't Singles
« on: June 19, 2010, 07:45:34 PM »
Top Ten:

Wicked Garden: Never a single! Only a radio promo
Dead and Bloated: Wasn't officially a single but it gets a lot of radio airplay anyway
Wonderful: Should have been a single. Too bad the album wasn't heavily supported by the record label.
Atlanta: I love this song
Songs for Sleeping: Great poppy song
Hello It's Late: Another great pop tune
Army Ants: awesome psychadelic rocker
Seven Caged Tigers: The band continues to explore new territory
Coma: Great rocker
Lounge Fly: A Good Trippy One

Honorable Mentions:

Too Cool Queenie
Adhesive
Kitchenwear and Candybards

New Album:

We only know two of the singles so here are my favs that might not be singles. I'm pretty sure Cinnamon will be a single so I didn't include it.

Hichory Dichotomy: One of my favs from the new album. It may or may not make it as a fourth single
Huckleyberry Crumble: Another great one.
Fast As I Can: Probably won't be a single but it's good nonetheless!

Stone Temple Pilots (2010) / Re: New Album: Sales Predictions?
« on: May 16, 2010, 04:44:13 AM »
There is a lot of hype for this album. I'm thinking around Velvet Revolver's Contraband. 256,000 I think it was? It's only 9.99 for the basic version..that has got to help things out.

I don't think it's STP's best song but there is something strangely groovy about "bagman" to me. It's a fun song! Does anyone else feel this way? It seems like this song has been the most criticized so far. Anyways, It's stuck in my head!

Stone Temple Pilots (2010) / Re: STP lost their Hard Rock Spark?

The beauty about music is that different songs will effect different people in different ways. Nothing wrong with expressing your opinion. In my opinion I really like the first three songs off the new album. While Scott's lyrics can be obscure at times, he is also the melody master in my opinion. These tunes sound so groovy...all have me moving:-)

I pretty sure this will be the second single or so I hope. It's great. It has a good chance of being a big hit too....Maybe not the surefire hit potential of BTL, but while it's slightly less immediately acceptable...it's still very catchy, and my pick for the better song. Read my lips it will reach at least the top 3 one one of the rock/alternative charts if released as a single...which I'm almost sure it will be.  After Hichory will be a slower ballad which we havne't heard yet. At least...that is my guess :-)

Sin was not one of favorites either, so I probably would have given it a C.

But after seeing it played live.......97 A

Also, Where the River Goes is way too epic for that low score.

Also...

BTL- 89 B
Hickory Dichotomy- 94 A
Bag Man - 84 B
Huckleberry Crumble - 82 B

I dunno why but for some reason I was never that into Where the River Goes. I agree Hichory Dichotomy sounds killer. I wish I could here the album version or a better quality video. Bagman for me is right behind it. For the new songs I would say:

BTL: 95
Hichory Dichotomy: 95
Bagman: 93
Huckleberry Crumble: 88

I find it a little hard to believe that Interstate is the only song STP has written that deserves an A+

Well, If I were comparing them to other bands they would have gotten a lot more A+
