Out Of The Chains That Bind You / Re: Rest in Peace, Chris Cornell
« on: May 21, 2017, 06:30:22 PM »
It's my first visit here since this happened. I was at the show on Wednesday I was so excited to go see one of my musical heros. Just like with stp I brought my wife to share with her how much these bands mean to me and have been the soundtrack to my life. My lladder starts with stp, soundgarden then Alice in chains. Soundgarden isn't the most uplifting band but it paints a picture that we are not the only people that get down have problems but getting it out and talking about it helps. The show was awesome he was very talkative which was a little strange considering he's usually not played great singing was fantastic. I read a lot of things that something was off but I think it's easy to say that the day after. Me and my wife got in the car and I told her that this show was number 2 of my favourite shows (stp 2008 at the Fillmore) being number 1. I was upset when Scott died for sure but Chris's death has really shaken me. Odviously I saw him performing and then 1 hour later he hung himself. I feel selfish that I'm upset because I didn't know him. He left behind a wife and three kids. The whole thing is tragic. We might never know what he was thinking. If he walked onto the stage that night knowing that it would be his last night that he knew once he got back to his room he would end it. I hope he has found peace.
RIP Chris.

That's jeff singing

This is what we can look forward too :-\

We've discussed this  on here before. That recording is 15 years old,  cut the guy some slack.  Also,  I think the roaring nu metal vocals are done by the bass player.

Yeah I know. I'm from Detroit I've seen jeff in his cover band years ago "band with no name" or something like that they played aloe of Alice and stp. Guy can sing for sure I'm not busting his balls im glad he's getting a break just wish it wasn't with stp. I'm just one of those people that would be all for it if they went by other name. But I guess as long as we get new stuff from the Deleos and kretz I'll be happy.

Scott Weiland / Re: Scott Weiland found Dead
« on: December 07, 2015, 12:50:57 AM »
I have no idea why the statement put out by dean rob and Eric kinda bothers me a little. It was nice and everything I don't know what I was expecting but I thought it would be a lot more emotional than what it was. I know they had there battles and I'm sure there is still a little anger and resentment towards Scott but man ..... I just can't put my finger on it.
Does anyone else feel this way or am I just crazy.?

I been a member of this site for a few years don't post too often but it's part of my routine everyday to check in. Iam in every sense of the word a die hard life long stp weiland fan like all of you (drives my wife crazy, because it is about 90% what I listen to and every time I plug in the les Paul it's from the catalog ) although she is a fan as well. His music has gotten me through my parents divorce my fathers death depression   But it has also been there in the good times marriage two beautiful daughters buying a house promotions at work. I was hard on Scott and even angry because you know that they are capable of so much more. I never met him didn't know him personally but I can say that he was a great guy caring loving loyal to those close to him. Of course I will remember him as the guy who spoke to me through music in my darkest times picking me up when I thought there was nothing left to live for. I will have the memories of seeing my heros in Detroit in 08,09,10 Lansing 09 and the last time this past July in sterling hts,the SLDD logo tattoo on my arm those will be with me forever.

Thank you Scott for sharing your gift with us
May you finally be at peace.

Before I get into let me start by saying I fuckin love stp it's almost all I listen to (drives my wife crazy) I know almost every song on guitar I've seen them everytime they have ever came to Detroit I think Scott is the greatest frontman that ever fronted a band. But tonight I wasn't expecting much but there was a part of me that wished he would have a fire under his ass to show people he can't still perform at a high level. He did have energy,he interacted with the crowd but sadly he sound flat out of key and was signing way higher than I ever ever heard him before. I left after 6 song because I didn't want to believe this was the same guy that kicked fuckin ass at rolling rock. I know he's old I get it but man it's just sucked to see him like that. But in good news he looked somewhat ok and wasn't too fucked up

he sounds good.

the only way i could ever image vr doing a tour or festival is if they make a scott sign a contract that he will get paid per gig (almost like a hired gun) if he's late he doesn't get paid, hammered, not getting paid. and i don't see that happening either. I'm sure scott would get his shit together for the money id hope.

very cool topic..this takes me back. I'm 28 now so this was maybe around 2001 i was around 14 or 15 i love the 90s music played a little guitar i knew of stp (plush, sex type thing singles really) but a good buddy of mine got his liscence and we were driving around and this song comes on (dead and bloated) and i can honestly say that in the moment it changed my musical life forever the guitar tones the drums the vocal it was ear candy at it finest. then the chorus (ooohhh yeah yeah...and she says its natural) was just amazing and really still gives me that feeling when i hear it. from then on i got every thing stp, all the cd learn all the songs on the guitar in 2005 i got the flueron tattoo on my arm.this band means a lot to me of course I'm not thrilled with whats going on currently but i always have the cds videos on youtube.

so yeah DEAD AND BLOATED.
