I remember reading somewhere years ago, that they recorded "In My Room."  If memory also serves correctly it was supposedly super rough and no word of releasing it.

I love "God Only Knows."  I danced with my father to that song at my wedding!

Played Shows 1992-2012 / Re: 2010-09-05 - Holmdel, NJ - PNC Bank Arts Center
« on: September 08, 2010, 05:17:25 PM »
This was my 16th STP show.  I too was at the PNC show 2 years ago and as Goldstein says it in Harold and Kumar "You know the Holocaust? Picture the opposite of that!"  The band was really cohesive and tight.  They were laughing and talking to the crowd.  Yes there were some extra jams but we were also treated to a bit of a Led Zeppelin song before they played Dancing Days.  I do think Pretty Penny sounds better acoustic but I will take what I can get.  And I got a great concert!

As for people leaving early, that always happens.  Do I ever leave, hell no.  But some people want to get out of the parking lot early.  Fine with me since it usually lets you get a little closer towards the end.  Also that kid you ran on stage, he stood next to me for a bit as he made his way towards the stage.  He looked like a fool and was a jerk standing in front of people as he got closer.  I loved how he was basically ignored by the band once he got on stage.

Best of all, I am almost 4 months pregnant and I was happy to know that my future baby can say it went to an STP show.

Janina looks like a horse.   :o

We've seen pictures of her in the past, but that's the only video footage I'm aware of.  Unless someone's out there hiding something...

If memory serves me correctly Janina did something with horses, she was an equestrian or something.  Did anyone ever read that?

On Tour / Re: STP at MSG
« on: July 01, 2010, 09:54:20 PM »
I've seen the acoustic set a few times- the most memorable being the MSG and when they played the LA House of Blues.  I love how it cuts the show up and gives the band as well as the fan to chill for a few songs.  I think it also further shows their talents.
Hopefully one of these days they will bring it back.

They played MSG on 11/25/96.  Local H opened and yes, Steven Tyler and Joe Perry came out to sing "Lick and a Promise" and "Sweet Emotion."  The show was also sold out.

It was my first STP concert and absolutely AMAZING.  If memory serves me correctly, they played about 25 songs (not including the Aerosmith ones).  About half way the acoustic set dropped from the ceiling.  The physical set was pretty cool.  it was the white half dome shaped set and they played video across the back.

Awesome memories.  Even my mother enjoyed it.  Hey, I was in high school and they wouldn't let me go any other way.

what was the price of the deluxe version at Target (with DVD)? My Target only had 3 copies of the regular CD so I am resorting to an online purchase. Online, they have 3 versions- Deluxe for 18.39, Deluxe (only at target and itunes) for 13.99, and regular for 15.49.
First time Target has let me down.

Yeah, i got the LAST deluxe version on the shelves at my store. and it was 13.99

jealous!  I just ordered both the Deluxe versions.  Target has easy returns and shipping is cheap.  I wish everyone else better luck at their Targets!

:D What does the online 18.39 version offer that the 13.99 doesnt?

And for those planning to head out to Target to purchase, here is some information on the albums that were in stores:

Available In-Store at Target
Basic Version featuring 12 songs: $9.99
Deluxe Version featuring 16 songs and Bonus DVD:$13.99

Ok I got my two discs in the mail this weekend, the 18.39 version has the gold hand cover (instead of the yellow), soft case, and a foldout poster.  The 13.99 version is the hard case with the yellow hand and the DVD.

Most of the time, when I hear the beginning, I wait to hear Hurt Loder announce MTV new stories.
It is pretty sweet.  I love listening to it in the car, makes speeding so easy.

Redemption time for scott.
SERIOUSLY.  I just told my husband we are going to this show.  He told me to stop planning and putting things on our calendar.  If only STP had asked if that day was good for me.
Looking forward to a great last concert for the summer!  The 2nd best part of this concert is the fact that Monday, everyone will be off for Labor Day!

The Target in Princeton NJ had 3 copies of the regular album in the Pop/Rock section.  Everything in the new release end cap was a few weeks old.  I will be interested to see where it will be this weekend.
I did go at noon so I wonder if any deluxe edition was already sold out.

I went to the one in Princeton yesterday and had them get me the Deluxe version out of the back room.

Argh!  I knew that would happen.  I tried to find someone to look for it but no luck.  Glad you got lucky and nice to meet you NJ STP fan.
